Youth Career Readiness Initiative

OAA is pleased to invite you to refer individuals for our “HEROES IN THE HOOD” Youth Career Readiness Initiative (YCRI).  YCRI is a program designated to provide career readiness training combined with community restoration and family strengthening.

Fast Facts

  • “HEROES in the HOOD”  is a two part 24 week program. It is open to young men ages 13 – 17 years old.  

  • Breakfast and afternoon refreshments will be provided. (Modified due to COVID-19)

  • Participants can receive a stipend up to $200 per month, contingent on being on time and demonstrating satisfactory participation.

  • The program will consist of healing circles and career readiness skills and provide a meaningful opportunity for young men to engage in community restoration and skills for entering the workforce. 

  • Participants will be expected to adhere to all program rules and standards upon entrance into the program. 

  • Participants and parents are required to attend a scheduled orientation. 

Note: Specific program details will be provided to “HEROES in the HOOD” YCRI participants during orientation.
